Education is at the heart of the Battlefield Run: what the event raises supports needy students' education, and the festival itself is a place to learn. Universities, colleges and vocational training centres come to exhibit, and visitors of every age are invited to explore, ask and be inspired.
Institutional exhibitions
Universities, colleges and vocational training centres exhibit their work and their courses. Exhibition booths are open to the public on all three days, with the partner exhibition and Education Fun Day on Friday 9 October near the Mwashoti Fort grounds in Maktau.
STEM innovation and academic programmes
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) innovation takes centre stage, alongside the academic programmes institutions offer, so young people can see what they could study and where it can lead.
Indigenous-knowledge showcases
Indigenous knowledge is shown as knowledge in its own right, presented by the communities who hold it, next to the science and technology on display.
